The manager leads a team within a specific geographic area of operations, directly overseeing inspection and tree contractor personnel. The position requires collaboration with customers and public entities to monitor and manage vegetation proximity to PG&E assets, contributing to system reliability and safety objectives. The position demands independent problem-solving skills to address moderate to highly complex issues, as well as the ability to lead project teams effectively. The Vegetation Program Manager will also develop new and ad-hoc reports, summarizing findings and recommendations while providing business insights to various levels of management. The role also involves contributing to the implementation and creation of new concepts, processes, and ideas to advance the vegetation management program. Participation in public hearings, legal proceedings, or similar events as a subject matter expert is expected, along with developing budget forecasts and business cases. The manager will review funding and purchase orders associated with complex projects for supervisor approval, manage multiple programs and projects supporting other lines of business, and act as a liaison for environmental submissions of agency work. Additionally, the manager will handle emergency work related to severe storms, wildfires, and power shutoff events, manage internal quality observations, and oversee vegetation management safety investigations and corrective action plans.
