About The Position
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a Vector Control Specialist at Fort Indiantown Gap. This position involves controlling and suppressing insects, rodents, birds, and other vector pests, as well as using herbicides to maintain grounds free of unwanted vegetation. The role requires inspecting nesting areas, applying pesticides, and using traps to control infestations. Regular removal of sanitary wastes, collecting disease-carrying vectors for identification, and maintaining safe storage of equipment and chemicals are also part of the job. Additionally, the specialist will use boring equipment, perform snow removal, and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
