Primary duties of this position are to support the manufacturing of vacuum envelope mechanical sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Building the assemblies require the use of small hand tools, microscopes and other measuring equipment. In addition to building, an Assembler will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and procedures, inspecting assemblies to ensure quality, and maintaining production flow to meet weekly schedule requirements.

  • Support the manufacturing of vacuum envelope mechanical sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Use small hand tools, microscopes, and other measuring equipment to build assemblies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and procedures.
  • Inspect assemblies to ensure quality.
  • Maintain production flow to meet weekly schedule requirements.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Experience with small parts, small hand tools, and microscopes.
  • Prior experience in reading blueprints and procedures.
  • Attentiveness to details with a strong desire for precision and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from management and engineering staff.
  • Ability to lift 5 to 20 lbs.
  • Tig welding and brazing experience.
  • Clean room experience and knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control.
  • Ability or prior experience of reading Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
