VDC Operator As our VDC Operator, you will create electrical designs and layouts for various sizes and scopes of construction projects using software such as AutoCAD MEP and Revit. VDC Operators are integral to the preconstruction team, working with our virtual design team, project managers, and estimators to support Mid-City’s virtual layout and design needs. This is an onsite, in-office position.

Requirements

  • Experience with AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and/or Navisworks
  • Electrical technical training
  • Basic knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control with the ability to interpret cost data and systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop construction drawings using AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
  • Create drawings for layouts of electrical, ductwork, and conduit systems.
  • Support project manager by fulfilling all VDC needs related to the preconstruction and construction process.
  • Create drawings for layouts, coordination, and construction.
  • Attend coordination meetings and manage the coordination process.
  • Review architectural, structural, and mechanical contract drawings, as well as the electrical specifications.
  • Utilize clash detection software to eliminate system conflicts.
