Works under the general administrative direction of the Violent Crime Intervention Fund (VCIF) Director to oversee and administer the grant funds received from the State of Tennessee for violent crime intervention. Coordinates with various State and local departments to ensure financial and programmatic compliance with grant regulations. Reviews and approves procurement documents supported by grant funds. Communicates with Finance Director, grant staff, department heads, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review the status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems. Leads audit efforts for the department to ensure compliance. Coordinates the alignment of the VCIF programming with the city’s strategic goals for public safety in specific zip codes. Prepares draft audit reports for auditors. Facilitates corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified through site visits and audits to ensure compliance with Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA). Oversees the completion of all grant reporting requirements. Maintains schedule of required reports and due dates. Approves personnel documents, journal entry adjustments, payment vouchers, and procurement contracts. Provides technical assistance to executives, department managers, staff, and other stakeholders on grant related issues. Keeps abreast of grant regulations to ensure compliance is maintained. Drives to various meetings, workshops, and hearings conducted by granting agencies as required.
