About The Position

The Vault Teller is responsible for providing exceptional service at the teller line while minimizing fraud and losses. This role involves processing member financial transactions, achieving production goals, and maintaining high team morale. The Vault Teller must comply with all applicable regulations and provide friendly, professional service to all members, while also cross-selling products and services to enhance their financial lives.

Requirements

• Two years of direct Credit Union experience as a Teller or five years of related cash handling experience in banking or retail is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of Credit Union products and services is necessary.
• Professional verbal communication skills are essential.
• Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail are needed.
• Ability to work in an open-concept workspace.

Responsibilities

• Meet all Shell FCU Service Commitments and Employee Creed.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with applicable rules and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
• Provide friendly, professional, and personal service to all members.
• Process member financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
• Ensure monthly compliance audits are completed.
• Prepare cash/coin shipments and orders for the branch.
• Prepare CTR & SAR worksheets as required.
• Understand Shell FCU practices to help identify and prevent fraud.
• Balance cash drawer daily and resolve out-of-balance conditions immediately.
• Assist with signing off on checks and providing teller overrides.
• Train new staff and assist in the development of team members.
• Cross-sell Credit Union products and services based on member needs.
• Assist members with service needs such as address changes and ATM card issues.
• Meet/exceed personal and branch goals.
• Lead the team with daily responsibilities, including opening and closing procedures.
• Assist the team at other branch locations as needed.
