As a Vault Teller at Loomis, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the inventory in our cash vaults for our customers. This position involves working closely with your team to ensure that all cash and coin deposits are accurately processed and accounted for. You will be responsible for checking identifying numbers or seals on bags of deposits and change shipments against the accompanying receipts or provided manifests. Your attention to detail will be essential as you count items, record amounts and serial numbers, and sign and date receipts and manifests. Additionally, you will load and unload wagons or flatbed carts with bags and boxes of coin, sort individual cargo items by route, and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers via telephone. The work environment can be challenging, requiring physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy items. You will need to load and unload bags and boxes of currency, checks, and coins, which can weigh an average of 50 lbs. each, several times during a 6 to 10 hour shift, 5 to 6 days a week. The role also demands the ability to push carts loaded with cargo weighing up to several hundred pounds and to perform repetitious lifting and bending. You will be expected to maintain a high level of accuracy while performing these tasks, as you will be responsible for signing and recording numbers by hand and preparing reports. A valid firearms permit or the ability to pass applicable firearms requirements may be required for this position. Working conditions include being in a room within a vault with little or no exposure to outside light. The full-time schedule can potentially consist of an average of 40 to 50 hours per week, with a minimum of 5 days during a 6-day period.
