About The Position

Responsible for the day-to-day operation as a Vault Checker in a secure building on a military facility. Report any discrepancies on the 702 form. The heads of activities that process or store classified information shall establish a system of security checks at the close of each duty and/or business day to ensure that any area where classified information is used or stored is secure. SF 702, "Activity Security Checklist," shall be used to record such checks. An integral part of the security check system shall be the securing of all vaults, secure rooms, and containers used for storing classified material. SF 702, "Security Container Check Sheet," shall be used to record such actions. SFs 701 and 702 shall be retained and disposed of as required by Component records management schedules.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Vault Checker
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation is required
  • Working knowledge of using 702 forms.
  • A resume submitted with a job application is required
  • Current/active Secret-level security clearance mandatory
  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating agency vehicle, government/customer vehicle, and/or personal vehicle for work purposes; have a good driving record, valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance
  • Must be able to complete a background check, as per company requirements, satisfactorily.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality
  • Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech.
  • Adequate ability in writing/reading/mathematics
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers
  • Experience with proven analytical and multi-tasking skills
  • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to walk 1.5 miles 4 times during a 12-hour workday.
  • Ability to drive from the designated building to other locations during daylight hours and nighttime hours without any problems.
  • Must have a driver’s license and have the authorized coverage under agency insurance to maintain a good driving record and be able to drive on the job.
  • Adequate ability is required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
  • Ability to independently mobilize on all surfaces and situations
  • Ability to move safely about the work area.
  • Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas

  • Physical stamina to work at least 12 hours per day.

Responsibilities

  • Report any discrepancies on the 702 form.
  • Securing of all vaults, secure rooms, and containers used for storing classified material.
  • Maintain the door checks at a schedule of every 3-hour rotation and make sure all doorway locations are secure and noted on the log sheet at each location, an SF 702.
  • Reads and responds to e-mails from supervisors and customers
  • Being proficient in English (oral and written communications)
  • Interact with co-workers, other professionals, and interested parties in a professional manner.
  • Prepare correspondence as directed to include typing, editing, logging, and filing.
  • Respond to routine telephone calls/requests; refer calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence to the appropriate person
  • Utilize Microsoft Office software programs and specific government-required software
  • Comply with organizational Operations Security and Information Security requirements
  • Arrive on time and ready to work the assigned schedule
  • Provide a high level of customer service to all patrons, coworkers, and other interested parties
  • Take direction, interact, and maintain open communication with supervisor/lead
