About The Position

The Vault Cashier is an experienced Cage Cashier. The Vault serves as the casinos main source of gaming funds. The Vault Cashier is responsible for the proper execution and accountability of employee/casino floor financial transactions, as well as the general accountability, safeguarding and balancing of vault funds.

Requirements

  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be familiar with, and able to operate, computers, printers and card machines.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work with numbers and cash accurately.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays and unexpected events.
  • Basic analytical and deductive reasoning ability. Must be competent in computer skills. Must have superior interpersonal relations skills

  • Supervisory experience in a financial environment Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform employee and casino floor financial transactions (i.e., bank issuances, bank returns, tip drops, event drops, fills, credits, etc.) in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Perform guest financial transactions (i.e., ticket redemptions, voucher redemptions, check cashing, credit advances, chip sales/redemptions, etc.) in accordance with prescribed procedures when business or scheduling demands warrant.
  • Verify the daily drop of gaming proceeds and accept accountability for such from Soft Count in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Maintain security and balancing of cash and cash equivalents in their accountability. Responsible for accurate cash handling of large amounts during their shift
  • Maintain an organized workstation. Ensure shift-end paperwork is properly organized, totaled and balanced in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements, including NIGC, SFNGC, IRS and State Compact pertaining to Cage/Vault transactions.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service through an upbeat and positive attitude; friendly and helpful service in a polite, professional manner. Comply with company policies regarding Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Casino Cages and Vault during assigned shift, ensuring compliance with prescribed procedures and regulatory requirements (SFNGC, IRS, and NIGC, as applicable).
  • Monitor business needs and ensure staff resources are deployed to meet demands. Provide feedback for effective scheduling.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for assigned staff: coach and mentor staff to develop technical expertise (productivity, job knowledge) and guest service behaviors.
  • Perform end of shift cashier closeouts with necessary paperwork, compiling, verifying and preparing information and reports. Research and document discrepancies/variances, if any.
  • Report any suspicious activity to appropriate management, Security and/or Surveillance personnel. Work with Accounting/Security/Surveillance to investigate unusual or suspicious activity, including cashier variances.
  • Verify significant/unusual transactions and ensure proper documentation is maintained (i.e.: payouts>$1000, MTL/CTRC reporting, manual checks, bank deposits, problem tickets, etc.)
  • Ensure a high level of customer service by maintaining awareness and monitoring staff performance. Assist in resolution of guest and employee issues/disputes in a polite, professional manner.
