Get to Know Your Team: Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital, and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence recognized surgeons, imaging, primary and specialty care.

Requirements

Must hold or obtain current licensure as an RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent within 12 months of hire and maintain current licensure.
Competent in scanning non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Must be able to demonstrate specific normal anatomy and abnormal pathology.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Medical Director/Vascular Surgeon, and direction of the department manager, you are delegated the autonomous authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
Accountable to perform safe, timely, and accurate ultrasound studies, including but not limited to Abdominal Aortic, Carotid Extracranial, Hemodialysis Access, Saphenous Vein Mapping, Arm Mapping (Venous/Arterial), Renal Artery, and arterial ultrasound of both the upper and lower extremities.
All phases of diagnostic medical sonography to provide high-quality exams for diagnostic, therapeutic, and operative purposes.
In addition, the studies performed must meet the expectations and requirements to maintain the current accreditations of both the vascular laboratory and the vein center itself.
Consult with the physician and/or Physician Assistant regarding the technical correlation for future and post-op surgical/intraoperative procedures.
