About The Position

The position involves performing comprehensive ultrasound exams while adhering to established protocols. The individual will be responsible for verifying, planning, setting up, performing, and reporting appropriate examinations. Patient safety and education are paramount, as the technician will verify patient identity and observe patients during procedures. The role also includes assisting in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests must be completed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that critical results are reported promptly while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Communication with physicians, patients, and other personnel is essential, requiring a pleasant and informative demeanor. The technician will also engage in teamwork, demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, and accountability in daily duties, while seeking to mentor and develop others. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area is crucial, including cleaning patient areas after use and notifying supervisors of any equipment or stocking needs. The technician will also be responsible for lab opening and closing procedures and must clean and maintain all equipment according to Hospital Infection Control policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in performing ultrasound exams.
  • Knowledge of established protocols for ultrasound procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in clerical tasks.
  • Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality regulations.

  • Experience with IAC Standard Protocol & LE, UE Venous, Carotid, PVR procedures.
  • Participation in vascular conferences.
