Critical results must be reported promptly, and patient privacy and confidentiality must be maintained at all times. The technician will communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other personnel, maintaining a pleasant and informative demeanor. Recommendations regarding duties, policies, and procedures will be made to supervisors, and the technician is expected to foster a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean work area, managing lab opening and closing procedures, and ensuring all equipment is cleaned and maintained according to hospital infection control policies. The technician will also attend vascular conferences and engage in professional growth opportunities.
