The sonographer assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement, completing clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, and ensuring that all testing information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner. Critical results must be reported promptly, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Communication with physicians, patients, and other center personnel is essential, maintaining a pleasant and informative manner. The position also emphasizes teamwork, motivation, and personal accountability, with a focus on mentoring and developing others. The work area must be kept clean and orderly, with responsibilities for lab opening and closing procedures, and adherence to Hospital Infection Control policies. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with participation in in-services and departmental meetings.
