About The Position

The Echo Sonographer II position involves performing comprehensive ultrasound exams, following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. The role requires verifying patient identity, ensuring patient education, cooperation, and safety during procedures, and assisting in quality assurance and performance improvement. The sonographer will also complete clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, ensuring all testing information is recorded accurately and promptly while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Communication with physicians, patients, and other personnel is essential, as is maintaining a pleasant and informative manner. The position emphasizes teamwork, personal accountability, and problem-solving in difficult situations. The sonographer is responsible for maintaining a clean work area, cleaning patient areas after use, and notifying supervisors of any equipment needs or problems. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with attendance at in-services and departmental meetings to enhance proficiency in testing and lab procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Sonographer Level 1+ with skills in Strain & Pedoff, Basic 3D, and Stress Echo.
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Engagement in teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of hospital infection control policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership in SVU and IAC.
  • Experience as a preceptor.
  • Completion of CVT PACT.

Responsibilities
