About The Position

What You Should Know About the Vascular Technologist:Monday- Friday: Typical hours 8:00- 4:30. This position will take call. Call is from 4:30 p.m.-8:00 a.m. during the week days and 24 hour call during the weekend and holidays. This position is based within Jefferson Regional Neurology Lab Job Summary:The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of Ultrasound scans/exams and related procedures at a technical level by utilizing the appropriate equipment to perform high quality scans in the Neurology and/or Ultrasound Departments. This position is also responsible for following established standards and procedures, reviewing images to determine necessary adjustment for optimum results. The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups and patient condition. Vascular Technologist Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical Diploma in Radiologic Technology or Sonography required.Associates Degree in Applied Science in Radiography/Sonography/Other related field or Bachelors Degree in Science/Radiography/Sonography/Other related field preferred.Advanced-level certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS, RDMS, RVT or RVS) or Registered Vascular Specialist by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)BLS/CPR required upon hire or obtain within 30 days of hire. This is a safety sensitive position.Minimum RequirementsMinimum of one year (1) experience as a staff technologist or tech externStrong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare teamDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skillsComfortable working with diverse patient populationMust be able to work in a fast paced department within the hospital. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations if required. (One-hour response time for callback.)Preferred Requirements3+ years experience in ultrasound or sonographyProficiency with vascular ultrasound equipment and familiarity with ultrasound protocols. Must be knowledgeable in cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology as well as possess General Ultrasound and or Vascular Ultrasound skills. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical Diploma in Radiologic Technology or Sonography required.
  • Advanced-level certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS, RDMS, RVT or RVS) or Registered Vascular Specialist by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • BLS/CPR required upon hire or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum of one year (1) experience as a staff technologist or tech extern
  • Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Applied Science in Radiography/Sonography/Other related field or Bachelors Degree in Science/Radiography/Sonography/Other related field preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in ultrasound or sonography
  • Proficiency with vascular ultrasound equipment and familiarity with ultrasound protocols.
  • Must be knowledgeable in cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology as well as possess General Ultrasound and or Vascular Ultrasound skills.
  • Obtain a general understanding of other special procedures that are performed within the department.
