Overview Trains to become a Registered Vascular Technologist. Learns to perform basic diagnostic vascular exams. Responsibilities Learns basic principles of vascular ultrasound and vascular physics. Learns the basic pathophysiology and treatment of vascular disease. Complete all course requirements and clinical rotations for the designated Vascular Ultrasound program maintaining passing grades in all program courses. Performs all basic diagnostic vascular exams with the ability to recognize appropriate indications and distinguish between normal and abnormal findings. Performs vascular sonographer duties that meet departmental needs including preparing preliminary exam reports and entering them in the vascular lab database. Recognizes and communicates clearly critical test results to appropriate providers and interacts with providers to ensure appropriate exams are performed. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Demonstrates professional behavior and comfort in a hospital setting. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
