About The Position

The Vascular Sonographer performs the daily routine/critical care and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the Physician. They further, conduct basic equipment maintenance, quality control measures, reporting of abnormal findings to physician (if immediate attention is indicated), and other administrative, technical or supervisory tasks as might be required. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Follows all established Ultrasound, Radiology and Hospital Policies and Procedures and is proficient exams both within and outside of the Department.

Requirements

  • A single two-year allied health education program that is patient-care related.
  • Graduate of a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA).
  • Minimum one year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
  • One year experience performing Sonography.
  • RVT by ARDMS certification.
  • BLS required per St. David's HealthCare policy.
