Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography program.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required.
  • RVT- Registered Vascular Technology certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is a requirement within 3 months of hire date.
  • BLS required.
  • One to two years of previous job-related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
  • Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.
  • Care and maintenance of testing equipment; cleaning as required by standards and reporting of malfunctions to appropriate service individuals according to policy.
  • Assist in preparation of the triennial IAC re-application documents as necessary to maintain lab accreditation; participate in peer review on a monthly basis per IAC standards.
  • Obtain mandatory CMEs to maintain active credential status for licensure according to the ARDMS.
  • Participate in taking call according to policy and / or the needs of the department providing 24/7 coverage to the hospital; assist with coverage on all shifts at multiple locations according to department needs.
  • Contribute to the education and training of physicians, fellows, students, co-workers and new employees in the practice of vascular technology and interpretation of vascular studies.
  • Required to fulfill general ultrasound exams.
  • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
