About The Position

Reporting to Vice President Physician Operations or designee, the Vascular Surgeon provides comprehensive physician services to assess, diagnose, plan and treat a wide range of patients with health issues/illness or injury within Northwest Community Healthcare facilities or Endeavor Health locations. The surgeon collaborates with an inter-disciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive clinical coordination of patient care, aiming for integrated, timely, high-quality, and customer-focused healthcare that effectively utilizes resources to optimize patient outcomes. The selected candidate will join a practice with 1 surgeon and 2 Advanced Practice Providers. This is a Full Time (1.0 FTE) position with 36 patient-facing hours, primarily on clinic days from Monday to Friday, with shared weekend call. The role benefits from a robust Specialty Care Network, 24/7 Hospitalist & Intensivist programs with a shared Epic EMR system, a great case mix, and APP support. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with current license to practice medicine in the state of Illinois
  • Board certified or eligible in General Surgery, Fellowship trained in Vascular Surgery
  • Active DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License, or ability to obtain
  • Current CPR certification or specialty specific advanced life support (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) certification obtained through American Heart Association
  • The interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients, families, medical personnel, and other members of the health care team in a compassionate and customer oriented manner
  • Current knowledge of evidence-based standards of medical care for specialty area
  • The ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the pressure of stressful emergency situations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and to assist in covering vacancies when necessary
