About The Position

Job Summary: Perform vascular non-invasive studies at all locations (Upstate Downtown and Upstate Community) as scheduled. Preparing reports which includes test data and a written preliminary interpretation Types of examinations include, but are not limited to, extracranial cerebrovascular, intracranial cerebrovascular, upper and lower extremity arterial duplex and physiologic testing, upper and lower venous duplex, aorta-iliac, renal, mesenteric, dialysis access evaluation and preoperative vein mapping Assisting during invasive procedures in multiple different settings including the operating room Provide adequate information pertinent to clinical findings that will assist in final reporting Transcribing, typing, and coding results of noninvasive exams.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited 2-year allied health program and two years of post-graduate experience or graduate of an accredited vascular/ultrasound program, with the equivalent vascular experience and active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
  • Must have solid knowledge base of anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics and pathology and how it relates to non-invasive vascular testing.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
  • Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two years' experience post internship performing vascular ultrasounds is preferred however, new grads with strong skills will be considered as well as general sonographers interested in cross-training.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
