About The Position

The position is for a part-time Vascular Sonographer at Advocate Health, specifically within the WFBMG University Group Practice at WFBMC Main - Cardiology: Vascular Laboratory. The role involves performing basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited protocols, ensuring patient comfort, and documenting findings to support diagnoses. The position requires a commitment to maintaining equipment and entering data into the cardiovascular reporting system. The work schedule is during the 1st shift with various schedules available, and the pay range is between $32.45 and $48.70 per hour.

Requirements

• Graduate of CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required.
• New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Competencies in ABI, Arterial Doppler (no intervention), Carotid (no intervention), Aortic (no intervention), Saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, DVT Upper/Lower extremity required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician's orders and reviews patient record prior to exam.
• Performs basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols.
• Ensures patient comfort throughout the exam.
• Recognizes and documents abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocols as necessary to support diagnosis.
• Provides physician with a detailed preliminary report.
• Enters measurement data and final report into cardiovascular reporting system.
• Ensures equipment is cleaned and functioning in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.
• Enters charges into electronic medical record.
