About The Position

The position involves performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing sonographic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data under the direction of the Medical Director.

Requirements

• 2 years specialized training required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate Vocational Training; Graduate of Ultrasound Certificate Program required.
• One year clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
• ARDMS Certified required at time of hire.
• Graduate from a two-year cardiovascular technologist program.
• Completion of formal education and/or training in vascular technology.
• Certification/Licensure Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or RVS (CCI) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform invasive and noninvasive procedures, utilizing sterile techniques when necessary, and operate complex imaging equipment under the direction of the Director and/or Manager.
• Participate in weekend schedule coverage and the on-call schedule where applicable. Cover additional shifts based on department needs.
• Follow scanning protocols as established by the radiologist.
• Initiate life support measures as appropriate.
• Demonstrate knowledge of department and notify Bio-Med and other service engineers of equipment issues.
• Review image quality and forward timely to PACS. Perform and log QA/QC for equipment in use.
• Conduct staff orientation, onboarding, training, and development.
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training.
• Collect and document appropriate patient history. Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA requirements.
• Prepare for the Joint Commission, ACR, Stericycle Inspections and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
