About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager Cardiopulmonary Vascular Services, a Vascular Access Specialist provides professional skilled age specific care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. The Vascular Access Specialist has advanced training and is responsible for initiating, maintaining, and monitoring intravenous therapy access devices and serving as a resource to the hospital staff to optimize vascular access therapy for adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients. This position conducts patient assessments and provides recommendations regarding care and aids with departmental activities, quality improvement and development of best practice guidelines in respect to vascular access. Hourly Pay Rate: $31.59 - $46.58

Requirements

  • Requires a graduate of a two (2) year A.M.A. approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Requires 2 years of clinical experience as an RRT.
  • Requires successful completion of ultrasound competency checklist within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be registered (RRT) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensed by the Arizona Board of Respiratory Care Examiners.
  • PICC Insertion Certification required upon hire.
  • Requires BLS and ACLS through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • PALS through an approved American Heart Association RQI program certification within the first 30 days.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g. formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one (1) year prior VAS experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • EKG/Telemetry training course is preferred.
