About The Position

Responsible for assessing, formulating plan of care, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patient population requiring vascular access placed by Nursing Specialty Services. Is a leader and collaborates with the healthcare tam to promote a world class environment. Serves as a resource person for maintaining and troubleshooting vascular access devices. Responsibilities

  • Performs vascular access assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality and safe outcomes.
  • Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
  • Collaborates with nurses and physicians to determine appropriate vascular access device selection and placement.
  • Analyzes collected data regarding vascular access to formulate a plan of care that contributes to high quality and safe outcomes related to infusion therapy.
  • Initiates a plan of care with measurable criteria consistent with world class performance levels.
  • Evaluates the vascular access device plan of care with the healthcare staff, patient and family/support system to maintain world class levels of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Contributes to a high performance work environment by seeking educational resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills including resources specifically related to vascular access.
  • Apply for nursing council or committee and be vested on one council at least every 5 years. 80% attendance in person or by phone is required. Advancements in Clinical Ladder will be reflected in yearly application process.
