About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Vascular Access Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. In this role, you will specialize in vascular access care, placing and maintaining a variety of lines while supporting infection prevention measures. Your expertise will play a key role in ensuring patient safety, high-quality outcomes, and continuity of care.

Requirements

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required.
• A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• At least 2 years of RN Acute Care experience is preferred.
• VA-BC (Vascular Access Board Certified) certification is preferred.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Proven and demonstrated autonomous critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
