About The Position

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. Services include vascular access device insertion, post-access support (declotting, line removal, port access, venous access troubleshooting), and continuing education. VTP provides on-site and mobile services across the Western and Southern United States, focusing on innovative, affordable, and client-satisfying care. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with customer clinical teams to resolve venous access issues, working in various settings (hospital or outside) to facilitate physician treatment objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to observe diverse treatment protocols and patient challenges, providing an alternative to demanding 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs.
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound.
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation.
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices.
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's
  • Visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs.
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements including a minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation.
