About The Position

Vascular Access Nurse (RN) works under the supervision of the Director of the Intensive Care Unit. Specializes in the insertion, maintenance, and removal of vascular access devices—ranging from peripheral IVs to central lines and implanted ports. This role ensures safe, effective intravenous therapy, minimizes complications, and supports optimal patient care across the acute settings. This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree-Graduate school of Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure - State of Missouri required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon Hire is required.
  • 2 Years of IV Therapy – Midline trained preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing Diploma or Degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  • Vascular Access - Board Certified (VA-BC) preferred within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Insertion of difficult PIVCs, Midlines, and Bedside PICC insertions utilizing Vascular Access Decision Tree.
  • Care and maintenance of vascular access devices including dressing changes, troubleshooting, and removal.
  • Educate patients and families on device care, warning signs, and proper maintenance.
  • Consultative liaison: interface with physicians, radiology, case management for VAD placement and patient discharge planning.
