We seek experienced Vascular Access Nurses (PICC RNs) for a highly flexible PRN position. If you are skilled in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion, infusion therapy, and vascular access care, we’d love to hear from you! As a Vascular Access Nurse (PICC RN – PRN), you will provide expert vascular access care with a focus on Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC lines). You will collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes through safe, efficient, and high-quality vascular access services.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience , with expertise in vascular access, infusion therapy, or critical care.
  • Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation required – This is a mobile role requiring travel between locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BC) is highly desirable.
  • Experienced PICC RNs looking for flexible PRN work.
  • Nurses with vascular access, home infusion, or mobile nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound-guided insertion, maintenance, and removal of PICC lines, midline catheters, and peripheral IVs.
  • Ensure accurate catheter placement following best practices and infection control protocols.
  • Assess and monitor vascular access sites to prevent complications.
  • Administer and manage intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, and fluids as prescribed.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications during infusions.
  • Educate patients on proper PICC line care, maintenance, and infection prevention.
  • Provide comprehensive self-care instructions to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized patient care plans.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with the healthcare team.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Follow organizational protocols and best practices for vascular access procedures.
  • Participate in quality initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize vascular access techniques.
