The VAS Picker/Packer located in Rensselaer, IN , is responsible for accurately selecting parts associated with internal and external customer orders to ensure customers receive the correct parts and quantities in both a timely and cost-efficient manner. This role requires attention to detail, safe operation of powered equipment, and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Hours of Work: 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM (overtime: 3:30 AM – 2:00 PM) 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM (overtime: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM)

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per day.
Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment toward shared goals.
Flexibility to adapt to change and perform additional duties as assigned.
Strong attendance record with regular and predictable reliability.

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse or picking/packing experience.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order selection.
Demonstrated commitment to safety practices.

Responsibilities

Receive and review customer orders to identify items and location codes.
Pick and count the correct quantity of items from the correct location.
Enter information into computer systems to maintain accurate inventory counts.
Move inventory using powered industrial equipment (PIE).
Maintain cleanliness of aisles and storage locations.
Pack products correctly, noting area-specific requirements (International, VAS, Purolator).
Locate pallets and product in designated areas for loading.
Follow all safety rules, including use of harness equipment, hazardous waste handling, lock-out/tag-out, hearing, and eye protection.
Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform additional duties as assigned to support Donaldson’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
