About The Position

The Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach is responsible for helping to lead, mentor, and develop student-athletes on the Varsity Volleyball team. This role includes planning and implementing training programs, organizing competitive play, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach, players, and school administration to ensure the team’s success both on and off the court.

Requirements

  • Previous coaching experience, particularly at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Strong knowledge of Volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in first aid and CPR (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training and practice schedule.
  • Conduct regular practices and drills to enhance player skills and team cohesion.
  • Develop game strategies and make tactical decisions during games.
  • Organize and manage team travel, including transportation and accommodation if necessary.
  • Assess individual players’ skills and provide personalized feedback and improvement plans.
  • Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Mentor and support players’ academic and personal growth.
  • Foster positive relationships with the school community and local organizations.
  • Ensure all players adhere to safety protocols and proper conditioning practices.
  • Address any injuries or health concerns promptly and in accordance with medical advice.
