Applications will be accepted through Friday, February 20 for the following position: Head Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach Cape Fear Academy seeks a leader who exudes the following qualities in their work with young women: integrity, discipline, patience, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and inspirational leadership. The search committee and the School will seek candidates with demonstrated good sportsmanship, community pride, and professionalism who inspire those around them to achieve at a higher level. This opportunity includes developing and engaging with players at all levels of the program in and out of season. Leading and “coaching the coaches” at all levels of the girls’ program is expected. The ideal candidate will be an experienced coach and teacher, exhibit high energy, have a warm, engaging leadership style, a keen intellect, a results-oriented and creative mentality and the ability to lead both fellow coaches, student athletes and team captains. This position will report to the Athletic Director and supervise the assistant coaches on the varsity staff, who will report to this position. Specifically for volleyball, the school offers varsity and junior varsity teams along with two middle school teams comprised of 7th and 8th grade. The school enjoys two gymnasiums for its volleyball programs; one facility is used primarily for practices and the other is used for both practices and competitions. Interscholastically, the school is a member of the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA) and competes in the 3A Classification and a member of the Coastal Plains Independent Conference.
