The Department of Anthropology at Skidmore College invites applications for a two-year, full-time non-tenure track visiting assistant professor position in cultural anthropology (open-area) for AY26-28 beginning Fall 2026. Responsibilities and Qualifications: We seek a broadly trained cultural anthropologist with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. The position requires teaching 5 courses per year (18 credits), including Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (both semesters), a mid-level geographic or topical course, and two upper-level seminars. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to undergraduate education at a liberal arts college. PhD in Anthropology required at time of appointment.
