About The Position

New Horizons is looking for a Van Driver to transport persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities using agency owned vehicles. The Van Driver is responsible for the safe transport of individuals from their home to facility-based services and back. The Van Driver will assist passengers as needed in the boarding and disembarking of the vehicle. Van Drivers make a positive difference in the life of the individual(s) they support.

Requirements

• Twenty-One (21) Years of Age or older
• Valid Driver's License and 5 years driving experience
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Complete required training including First Aid/CPR certification
• Drug Test required
• Background report and driving record required
• TB test required
• Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift

Responsibilities

• Complete a visual pre-trip and post-trip inspection to ensure the proper and safe functioning of the vehicle.
• Responsible for the cleanliness and general maintenance oversight of the vehicle assigned.
