About The Position

We are a Pediatric Day Center for medically fragile special needs children. We provide daily nursing care Monday - Friday (7:15am-5:30pm) with a 1-2 break/split shift (hours may vary) in our facility for children ages birth thru 21 years of age who qualify for skilled nursing services. We are seeking LVN's to accompany patients to and from their homes to our center riding our transport vans. 1 | SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of medically complex children to and from the PPECC. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a welcoming and secure environment during travel. The Driver also assists in maintaining vehicle cleanliness, monitoring safety procedures, and supporting center staff in the transition of children between vehicles and the facility. Drivers serve as the first and last point of contact for families each day and are essential to VIVA’s mission of compassionate, family-centered care. 2 | COMPETENCIES Safe driving and defensive vehicle operation Calm and courteous communication Dependability and punctuality Basic understanding of child supervision and comfort needs Respect for families, staff, and community partners Professionalism and customer service demeanor Familiarity with PPE use and infection control standards 3 | MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and insurability through the company’s insurance policy Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving laws and center safety protocols Practice safe driving techniques, ensuring proper use of safety belts, wheelchairs, and child restraints Drive scheduled pick-up and drop-off routes for PPECC patients Ensure a clean, safe, and organized vehicle interior and report maintenance needs to the Administrator Communicate positively and respectfully with families, caregivers, and center staff Monitor children during transport and report any concerns or incidents immediately Support children with mobility needs including lifts, transfers, and assistance into/out of vehicles Maintain professional appearance and model courteous behavior in community interactions Participate in all required training, safety drills, and in-services Follow infection control protocols, including sanitation of vehicles between trips Monitor and maintain vehicle condition by conducting daily checks (fuel, cleanliness, tire pressure, safety features) and reporting any issues or maintenance needs to the Administrator promptly Promote and adhere to all center policies and values 4 | ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Center Administrator Interacts with: Children, families, nurses, direct care staff, therapists, and administrative staff 5 | SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not supervise others. 6 | WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily vehicle-based with frequent stops and transitions May involve entering homes, care centers, and community pick-up points Exposure to varying weather conditions and road environments 7| PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequent driving, sitting, standing, and walking Must be able to assist with lifting and transferring children (up to 50 lbs) Requires bending, reaching, and navigating steps and ramps May use wheelchair lifts or other transport equipment 8| POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Full-time or part-time Monday–Friday Early morning and late afternoon shifts to support pick-up and drop-off 9| TRAVEL Local travel only; defined routes for patient pick-up and drop-off 10| REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be 24 years of age or older High school diploma or GED preferred Valid Texas driver’s license required Current Pediatric CPR and Basic First Aid certification required Experience driving passengers or working in healthcare/child transport preferred 11| ADDITIONAL ELGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Must maintain a clean driving record and insurability Must pass background check and misconduct registry screening Must complete required immunizations and TB screening Must maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA compliance standards 12| CLASSIFICATION Non-Exempt

Requirements

Must be 24 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid Texas driver’s license required
Current Pediatric CPR and Basic First Aid certification required
Must maintain a clean driving record and insurability
Must pass background check and misconduct registry screening
Must complete required immunizations and TB screening
Must maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA compliance standards

Experience driving passengers or working in healthcare/child transport preferred
