About The Position

Join the Team as a Van Driver at Klawock Island Ventures! Do you enjoy meeting new people and exploring the beauty of Alaska? Klawock Island Ventures is seeking Van Drivers to transport guests while providing engaging narration for the 2025 cruise season. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no DUI, DWI, negligent, or reckless driving citations)
  • Knowledge of Alaska roadway laws and regulations
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion)
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs
  • Applicants must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit culture

Responsibilities

  • Transport guests safely to and from Klawock Island Ventures, Hoonah Airport, and other destinations
  • Provide narration to guests during transport about Klawock Island, local history, and attractions
  • Ensure all equipment is clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report any necessary maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and vendors
  • Assist guests who need help getting on and off the vehicle
  • Follow all Alaska driving laws and regulations
  • Participate in all required training
  • Other duties as assigned
