About The Position

Driver would operate an eight-passenger van for morning and afternoon school runs. WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday, school year plus 5 weeks in the summer (Flexible 20-25 hrs./wk.)

Requirements

Current 7-D License
High School Diploma
Experience w/ Special needs Students
Experience as a van/bus driver
First Aid & CPR Certified
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States is required.

Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality at all times
Provide safe and timely transport of students to and from the school/programs they attend.
Perform daily safety checks of vehicle and equipment, reporting any problems to the Transportation Coordinator.
Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of vehicle.
Ensure that the vehicle has adequate gasoline prior to beginning of the route(s).
Operate vehicle(s) in accordance with all Federal and State traffic laws.
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, student and mileage logs.
Secure students and/or equipment with any restraints, seat belts, car seats, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
Assist students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed.
Deal effectively with behavior issues during the route. Driver/Monitor must report any problems or concerns to the Transportation Coordinator and file an incident report.
Release students only to individuals identified as approved for release and contact the transportation office when in question.
Additional job duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator.
