About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Transport Driver to safely transport our residents to and from medical appointments and hospitals while serving as a trusted extension of our care team. About the Role As our Transport Driver, you will ensure residents arrive at appointments safely, on time, and with everything they need. You'll coordinate schedules, maintain clear communication with families and staff, and uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Your reliability and compassion will help ensure continuity of care and peace of mind for residents and their loved ones.

Requirements

  • Age 25-70
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Clean driving record (copy required prior to hire)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage schedules effectively
  • Flexible and adaptable to last-minute changes
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Neat, well-groomed, and professional in appearance
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Lift at least 100 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet
  • Push/move 200+ lbs. for up to 200 feet, including up wheelchair ramps
  • Stand or walk for extended periods
  • Work in environments with potential exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments and hospital visits
  • Schedule doctor and follow-up appointments in a timely and organized manner
  • Notify residents and their primary contacts of scheduled appointments
  • Arrange alternate transportation when necessary
  • Ensure all required paperwork and medical documentation accompanies residents to appointments
  • Return documentation and updates to the nursing team promptly
  • Maintain a clean and well-kept vehicle (interior and exterior)
  • Monitor and manage vehicle maintenance (fuel, oil changes, tires, registration, etc.)
  • Operate all equipment in accordance with safety policies
  • Safely assist residents with wheelchairs, including pushing and loading
  • Maintain a strict no cell phone use while driving policy
  • Foster positive, professional relationships with coworkers, healthcare providers, and outside contacts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
