Van Driver - Special Ed Transportation
About The Position
Behavioral Health Allies- Live, Learn, Grow A valid CDL driver's license with B or P endorsement OR Class E driver's license with S or P endorsement is required. CDL starts at $21.00 Class E/S Endorsement starts at $20.00 Position As a Behavioral Health Allies Van Driver you will be operating a school van over designated routes and transporting school aged individuals. In addition, you may transport BHA clients for various charter trips. As a driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of clients. ALL DRIVER JOBS ARE PART TIME SPLIT SHIFT; 20-25 HOURS PER WEEK MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY SPLIT SHIFT - 6:30 AM - 9:00 AM AND 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Requirements
- High School/GED required.
- 1-4 years’ experience as a driver
- Must have a safe and valid driver’s license according to the school regulations.
- Class E License with S or P endorsement OR CDL License with B or P endorsement required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to drive when in the field.
- Must satisfactorily complete all required training.
- Be able to pass all background checks, which may include physical, drug screening and licensure.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety rules as students board and exit van or cross streets near stops
- Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
- Check the condition of a vehicle's equipment to ensure that everything is in working order
- Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety
- Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled locations, following strict time schedules
