About The Position

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) program provides a variety of supportive and rehabilitative services to individuals living with chronic mental illnesses in Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, and Ste. Genevieve counties. It offers opportunities for educational, career, social, and recreational activities both on-site and in the community. The program serves adult clients 18 years of age or older and operates five or more days each week, often with evening activities. Vans owned by the Center transport members to the PSR program and for community-based activities. As a PSR Aide, your role involves providing support to consumers and PSR staff, routinely transporting consumers to and from the PSR program, and assisting PSR staff with various activities including clerical duties, kitchen tasks, group work, or other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED/HSE
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a Class E license
  • Proof of continuous auto insurance
  • Must be able to pass CPR/FA training
  • Must be able to pass ProACT training

Responsibilities

  • Provide protective oversight of clients; monitor the condition of the clients.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of the clients according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist and guide clients in performance of tasks and responsibilities of PSR program, i.e. Cleaning, cooking, group activities.
  • Assist in intervention during crisis situations when needed.
  • Provide support to PSR Specialist and Manager as assigned.
  • Transport to and from PSR all members deemed eligible for transportation services.
  • Assist passengers in boarding and exiting the van if needed.
  • Report any problems with the operation of the van.
  • Have van serviced when needed, and keep accurate records on van maintenance.
  • Maintain necessary records for the number of clients transported.
  • Operate van according to DMH Licensure and CPRC Certification standards.
  • Provide non-routine transportation services as assigned and as available.
  • Document according to clinical policies and procedures, DMH, CARF, and any other federal or state program per agency standards.
  • Assist PSR staff with activities which include clerical, kitchen duties, group work or other activities as assigned.
