About The Position

As a Van Driver/Banquet Houseman at Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center Harlingen, you will be responsible for the setup, cleaning, and maintenance of all meeting and banquet rooms per client specifications or as directed by banquet management. This role requires adherence to BC Lynd's and Hilton's high standards of quality and safety protocols. You will also serve as a van driver, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of guests and supplies as needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in hospitality, specifically in the setup, cleaning, and maintenance of meeting and banquet rooms.
  • Proven experience with vacuuming floors and cleaning walls/windows.
  • Familiarity with the care, movement, and storage of banquet equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, and dance floor lecterns.
  • Ability to approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the proper care, movement, and storage of all banquet equipment, including tables, chairs, risers, and dance floor lecterns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the control and storage of meeting room supplies, including linen, pads, and other necessary materials.
  • Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming floors and cleaning walls and windows to maintain a pristine environment.
  • Assemble and dismantle banquet rooms in accordance with client specifications and management directives, taking care to handle all equipment.
  • Prioritize and multitask departmental functions to meet strict deadlines, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Listen to, understand, and clarify any concerns raised by employees and guests, providing solutions in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Ensure the proper care, movement, and storage of all banquet equipment, including tables, chairs, risers, and dance floor lecterns.
  • Assist in the transportation of guests and supplies as a van driver, ensuring safety and timeliness.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a high standard of service and hospitality at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall operations of the hotel.
