About The Position

The Principal’s primary role is to promote the success of all students at Van Buren Tech, through instructional leadership, quality building management and effective supervision.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in School Administration
  • School Administrator Certification Required
  • Three Years of Successful School Administrative Experience Required
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Possess superior multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Show positive energy, integrity, and ability to work as both a team leader and member
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Possesses a growth mindset
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational Certification Preferred
  • CTE School Administrative Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the development, supervision, and evaluation of instructional and support staff.
  • Closely monitor teaching practices to ensure rigor and best practice occurs in all classrooms.
  • Advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
  • Ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and an effective learning environment.
  • Collaborating with families, home schools, business, industry, and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
  • Foster county-wide collaboration in the education of CTE students.
  • Acting with integrity, fairness, and an ethical manner.
  • Staying abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional workshops, meetings, conferences, and reading professional journals/publications and discussing concerns and issues of mutual interest with others in the field.
  • Attend county Principals' meetings & communicate regularly with all stakeholders via a variety of mediums.
  • Continuously identify areas for professional growth and seek professional development opportunities to enhance performance in identified areas.
  • Provide staff supervision relative to Van Buren ISD and Van Buren Tech policies, staff schedules, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Conduct observations of professional staff members and programs within the Physical Technology Cluster.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and duties as assigned by the Director of Career & Technical Education.
  • Coordinate building-wide professional development opportunities.
  • Organize and lead building-wide staff meetings.
