About The Position

The Valve Technician is an integral part of Idaho Milk Products’ ability to maintain our production facility. The Valve Technician performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves. The Valve Technician must be flexible and respond to the growing and changing needs of the company, including but not limited to regular standby assignments and work scheduled off-hours due to business needs. Our technicians perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the plant’s business goals and objectives. This role requires you to attend CSI’s 2-year Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship program. Idaho Milk Products will cover the cost of the program as long as you are employed with us, and receive a passing grade.

Requirements

  • High School Education/Diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of dairy processing equipment and plant facilities a plus.
  • Industrial plant safety practices.
  • Centrifugal pump maintenance and troubleshooting skills are a plus.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and adjusts equipment for proper operation.
  • Completes work orders, carries preventative maintenance schedules, and installs new equipment.
  • Performs minor and major repairs on plant equipment in the production facility.
  • Performs skilled maintenance activities to include but not limited to construction, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing as required.
  • Compliance with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Performs work in confined spaces.
  • Performs work from aerial lifts.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
