About The Position

The Valve Repair Technician Apprentice is responsible for learning and assisting in the repairing and testing of various types of valves within the chemical, refining, and power industries. This role involves disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, measuring, reassembling, and testing valves at Leverage Mechanical facilities and client locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Some degree of interest/familiarity with tools and machines/mechanical assemblies.
  • Exhibit a character of integrity and good manners.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Exhibit sufficient knowledge to learn new skills and apply basic math and grammar in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Exhibit punctuality in performance of duties.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in execution of tasks.
  • Communicate with clarity and accuracy, as much as possible.
  • Exhibit focus on the task at hand / avoid distractions of technology, such as phone.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform repair and testing of valves including ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, and safety relief valves.
  • Adhere to documented procedures in compliance with Quality Control Manuals and applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform measurement with dimensional tools and visual inspection.
  • Complete all necessary documentation associated with valve testing and repairs.
  • Travel to job sites and adhere to site safety and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with co-workers, management, and safety coordinator to ensure safe and efficient execution of tasks.
