VALVE REPAIR TECH TRAINEE
About The Position
To assist the Valve Repair Department in all aspects of testing and repairing relief valves, in the shop or in the field, while maintaining a professional attitude. Dis-Assembly of Valves. Performs sandblasting. Cleans Valves. Inspects Valves. Properly documents testing, repairing, and information from the nameplates on the relief valve. Demonstrates excellent customer relations abilities. Performs shop maintenance. Performs re-machining or lapping. Travels with mobile unit. Climbs up to 100ft. Lifts up to 75lbs. Wears respirator when required.
Requirements
- Ability to completely repair spring loaded relief valves
- Must have working knowledge of pilot relief valves
- Leadership Abilities
- Ability to accurately complete all documentation required
- Capability of sandblasting, cleaning, inspecting, disassembling, re-machining, and lapping valves
- Capable of lifting up to 75lbs
- Ability to physically and medically wear a respirator
- Ability to travel up to two weeks per month
- Must complete Mercer's Training Program
