About The Position

Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to lead all aspects of the production environment of ECS. The primary objective of this role is to maximize company resources while supporting customers through product assembly and on-time shipments. Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes: Value Stream Leader, various Production team members, other roles as appropriate Duties/Responsibilities: Production Operations Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks. Follow-up with weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting. Work with Materials team to ensure the plant meets all inventory target levels while minimizing shortages Conduct and assist with continuous improvement activities to help production function more efficiently Set operational priorities to meet both short- and long-term business goals. Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental expense budgets to achieve financial and operational targets. Drive strategic initiatives that position the operation as a world-class, cost-effective production environment. Develop annual and 3-year planning method to support growth of the organization. Continuous Improvement Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendor/materials team to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs enterprise-wide, and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs Act as the strongest advocate and leader in respect to continuous improvement, lean process improvement, 5S, Safety, and Lean Ability to support growing business, including multi-site operations and potentially international locations. Production Leadership Lead the team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment Builds strength into team with redundant skill sets and flexibility to use resources most efficiently while developing team members to support needs of the business in an ever-changing organization as it grows Work closely with Human Resources to establish best practices for team. Develop and grow peers and partners in all directions of the Production organizational chart. Personally strengthen leadership and skills to support on-going growth of organization Be an exemplary model of the company culture…a leader at heart.

Requirements

  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including production, material movement, and employee management
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity with demonstrated effectiveness.
  • Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft suite
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills. Able to understand complex issues and provide appropriate, effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Strong ability to assemble & analyze data from various systems to get to opportunity/root cause. Leader in reporting skills and development with strong ability to develop others in this area.

  • Ten or more years in a senior leadership role in a relevant industry – preferred
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, management, industrial technology, or engineering and at least ten years of increasingly progressive managerial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience – required
  • Demonstratable experience in Lean, Lean Sigma, or related equivalent
