About The Position

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the value stream processes within the organization. This role involves leading multi-functional teams to ensure efficient production, continuous improvement, and high-quality customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or five years equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in value stream management, lean manufacturing, SixSigma, or similar functions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction abilities.
  • Ability to analyze and improve production processes.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to implement process changes, solicit agreement from multiple parties and be a change agent for the organization.
  • A proven emphasis on safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a multifaceted and collaborative environment, interacting with various departments including marketing, IT, and customer service to achieve project goals.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role: lift 50 lbs, stand, kneel, bend, wear PPE and spend approximately 70% of the workday on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and work direction for the team to ensure that resources needed are adequate to meet key requirements related to safety, service levels, cost, and productivity.
  • Lead day-to-day production activities within the value stream to ensure current commitments are achieved while making improvements.
  • Participate in and/or lead multi-functional projects and kaizen events involving the expansion and/or continuous improvement of the value stream.
  • Track daily performance; verify team leader countermeasures and recovery plans are in place for missed targets.
  • Recommend and implement changes regarding production capability, tooling, machine replacement, and staffing in support of production plans.
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities that respond to customer and market needs through contact with Sales/Marketing and district sales offices.
  • Participate, monitor, and maintain departmental budget -- both expense and capital.
  • Build an environment for participation and promote a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
