About The Position

The Value Stream Manager (VSM) will oversee and optimize the end-to-end operation of the specific work center value streams. This individual will be responsible for delivering world-class operational performance in safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement, while driving continuous improvement throughout their value stream assignment. The VSM will directly supervise up to 60 team members on multiple shifts, including leads and hourly staff, and will work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Scheduling, Customer Service, Maintenance, Engineering and the Continuous Improvement Teams to meet customer and company goals and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain, food science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing or a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing large teams (30+ people) and multiple shifts.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in production scheduling systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with shifting priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in spice, seasoning, or dry food manufacturing a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all Value Stream employees
  • Lead all aspects of value stream operations from raw material intake through to finished goods shipment.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a team of supervisors, leads, and production staff to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with scheduling and customer service to align production with demand, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to uphold food safety and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Identify and eliminate waste across the value stream using Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Drive daily performance metrics and ensure alignment with company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Analyze production data and implement corrective actions as needed to address gaps in performance.
  • Ensure proper training and development of team members, promoting a safe and inclusive working environment.
  • Manage departmental budget and resources efficiently.
  • Key team member for ideation, design & execution of Value Stream capital investments
  • Serve as the key liaison between production and upper management, ensuring strategic alignment and execution.
