About The Position

The Value Stream Manager plans, develops, and leads a team within the Republic Elite manufacturing business to excel in the areas of safety, quality, both internal and external customer deliveries, and cost. The Value Stream Manager is accountable for developing and installing consistent assembly and material flow processes within their areas of responsibility. The processes and workflows will drive very high levels of safety, quality yields, deliveries based upon customer order dates, and continually improving efficiencies of labor and material.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business or Engineering or minimum of 10 years of experience in an equivalent or high position.
  • Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in delivering performance management feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Proficient in basic and applied mathematics including statistical analysis, cost calculations, and data interpretation.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply MS Excel and other analysis tools to real-world problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Accept continuous improvement as a value of the organization and be responsible for identifying performance.
  • Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory, staffing requirements, and work procedures.
  • Leading the day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
  • Drive improvement in processes through Kaizen events that lead to improved performance.
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Developing metrics to measure performance and creating action plans to improve processes over time.
  • Measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as waste reduction, cycle time reductions, and cost savings.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams and locations throughout the value stream.
  • Communicating with all levels of staff within the company (including executives) to keep them informed about project status and progress.
  • Developing standard operating procedures for all activities within the value stream in order to standardize processes across departments.
  • Determine career plan for each departmental employee based on capability.
  • Establish annual personnel goals and objectives.
  • Lead an environment driven to achieve high team morale and positive business results.
  • Establish a training and certification process for each job on the team.
  • Encourage teamwork, cooperation, and ownership.
