The Value Added Supervisor oversees the efficiency of monitoring production, scanning make sheets, and discussing daily goals with employees. This role involves ordering sheets (make sheets), attending supervisor meetings, and reporting work schedules to line workers daily. The supervisor evaluates the production of the previous day to make necessary adjustments and handles any employee grievances, disputes, or problems in the most efficient manner possible, escalating unsolved matters to the Superintendent. The supervisor actively participates in group meetings, line meetings, and supervisory meetings, checks packaging to ensure it is labeled properly, and may involve guidance or actual performance of production procedures. Additionally, the supervisor performs pre-operational procedures to ensure equipment is properly sanitized and in working order, ensures employees have proper safety equipment, and verifies that hourly employees are trimming products correctly to minimize product loss. The supervisor works closely with the Quality Control department to ensure product quality and food safety. Daily work tasks are structured, and job performance is measured by the Superintendent based on criteria such as overall production of the line, quality of paperwork, attendance, attitude, and supervision of employees. The supervisor evaluates all newly hired employees during their first month of employment and performs follow-up training on hourly employees. They are directly involved in disciplinary procedures with hourly employees, which may range from verbal warnings to terminations, and maintain contact with line personnel in addition to plant management.
