About The Position

The Maintenance Manager at Valmont plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and improvement of plant facilities and equipment at the Bartow Utility plant. This position is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted efficiently and safely, while also managing a team of maintenance personnel. The Maintenance Manager will implement preventive maintenance programs, supervise maintenance projects, and collaborate with operations management to enhance productivity and safety within the plant.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial/manufacturing/factory maintenance.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High awareness for safety with the ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to be company trained and authorized to operate powered industrial trucks, aerial platforms, and bridge cranes.
  • Ability to spend 75% of workday standing or walking, 10% bending or kneeling, 10% stooping, and 5% climbing.
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Nice To Haves

  • Actively pursuing an Associate's or Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
  • One year of experience with basic troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • One year of experience in basic welding/fabricating metal structures/components.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of all plant improvement projects.
  • Ensure that all plant, property, and equipment are kept in excellent working condition.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program that minimizes downtime.
  • Ensure necessary maintenance supply items are immediately available.
  • Make recommendations for capital expenditures to optimize benefits from expenditures for personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Select, develop, and motivate employees ensuring fair and consistent treatment within applicable laws, policies, and EEO guidelines.
  • Work with outside contractors, taking bids and explaining requirements for work to be performed within the plant.
  • Supervise and schedule maintenance team to provide services for required shifts when applicable.
  • Collaborate with Operations Management to improve production processes and productivity.
  • Identify and report equipment abnormalities and safety hazards.
